Crossword Junkie

I'll admit it....I'd rather do the crossword than actually read the New York Times. Unless it's the home section or the food section.

This is how I start my day. Coffee and the puzzle and 'quiet time'. My husband on the other hand, likes to watch TV. Too much noise for me.

I love Monday...the easy puzzle. Today it's a tough one. When I've done all I can do, I some times research some of the answers. One Across is an interesting site for that.

But last week I found The New York Times Puzzle in Gothic. Not only does Donald post the answers with some explanation of the clues very early in the am (what time does HE get the paper) but if you'll look just above the graphic answers, you'll see the link to the cartoon that goes with the puzzle's theme for the day. How cool!

And...just for your entertainment:

Oh, Sarah....you're so fresh. Just when I thinking what a wonderful daughter you are.....
(I guess you don't DO the puzzle, do you?)

As Will Shortz, the editor of the Times puzzle said when asked about using reference sources to solve -- "it's your puzzle, do what you want with it". It's not a contest, it's an amusement.

Be nice!
