So...

I make soap. I have access to hundreds of bars of soap in the workshop.....

yet my soap dishes often have just a small sliver of soap, which I tend to use until it can barely be held.

Think on that, Jack Handy.

Aren't the cobbler's children usually barefoot...or something like that?

That is so true, Katie!

Me too. I "glue" the old bars to the new bars so I don't waste a bit.

My yankee mother-in-law used to save all her old bits, cook them on her stove and make her own mixed bars in a cake pan. It took me a while to figure out what the glass jar of soap ends was doing in the bathroom. I finally got up the nerve to ask one day. Bet noone does that these days?

Kristin,
Maybe folks will start to be more frugal in this spiraling economy.

Can't hurt....
